14th February 2014

Everyone knows that 14th February is Valentine's day. However for this year, year 2014, Valentine's Day will be extraordinary as the 15th day of Chinese New Year (Chap Goh Mei) falls on this very same day too! The 15th day of Chinese New Year is known as “Eastern Valentine's Day". It is believed to happen in every 19 years!

Chap Goh Mei is the fifteenth day is the first full moon of that lunar year. According to East Asian tradition, at the beginning of a new year, when there is a bright full moon in the sky, there should be thousands of colorful lanterns hung out for people to appreciate. At this time, people will try to solve puzzles on lanterns, eat glutinous rice balls named after the festival, yuanxiao (also known as tangyuan) and enjoy a family reunion.

When "East meet West", love is all around. Love is the most wonderful of all feelings in this world. What could be a better time to let your dear ones know that you love them. Just a simple saying “I love you" will definitely make a difference!

Nature Terms wishes everyone have a romantic and wonderful day and Happy Valentine's Day!
